Here is a brief history of the game of golf.
The Origin of the game of golf has never been clearly established. The early golf courses all had different numbers of holes.
St. Andrews, one of the oldest golf clubs in the United States, was established as a 3-hole layout in 1888 at Yonkers, N.Y.
During the next few years numerous 5-, 6-, 8-, 9- and 12-hole courses were opened.
The first 18-hole course in the United States, the Chicago Golf Club, was founded near Wheaton, Ill(Illinois), in 1893.

However, the old style courses, like most early courses, having the ninth holes as the furthest away from the clubhouse. The first nine are still the "out" nine, and then you turn to play back "in" nine. It was not until well into the twentieth century that the convention of two circles or "loops" of nine holes, beginning and ending near the pro-shop, became fashionable.

Loop Golf at Deer Run Golf Club brings you back into history of golfing with a 3 hole, 4 hole, 5 hole or 6 hole course layout available to the golfer who doesn't have 4 plus hours to play a full 18 holes of golf. Each loop begins and ends near the pro-shop allowing for easy access of play.
Loop Golf is open for play 7 days a week after 4pm, call ahead for a tee time
Rates and approximate time require playing as follows:
3 holes walk or ride. Time to play approximately 45 minutes- $12.00
4 holes walk or ride. Time to play approximately 60 Minutes- $16.00
5 holes walk or ride. Time to play approximately 75 minutes - $20.00
6 holes walk or ride. Time to play approximately 90 minutes - $24.00
Children (age 15 years and under) with a paying adult- $10.00 for 3 through 9 holes. Golfers must hae a valid drivers license to operate golf carts.
Tee times must be made in advance and are subject to availability.
